BetVite

Background

BetVite Homepage BetVite Bet Detail Page
Not all bets are for money. People like to bet on the outcome of TV shows, media events, what their friends will or won't do, and pretty much anything that has more than one outcome. People make casual bets all the time, but all of the betting sites online were serious gambling sites. What were trash-talking know-it-alls to do?

Project Summary

BetVite was created to answer that need. It is a place where people can create and mange non-money bets. The site is broken down into public and private bets. Private bets are invite-only, and public bets get automatically assigned to categories on the homepage. Once users are logged-in all bets, public or private, are listed on their personalized homepage.

Users are able to place and changes bets, post comments, and monitor other users' bets. Depending on a bet's settings, users can invite other users to the bet, resolve the bet, set a bet lock timer, and other functions. People invited to a user's bet are automatically added to their personal address book. A recent activities section consolidates all of the active comments and bet activity into a single page view.
