Pongr

Background

Pongr Pongr Activity Screen
Pongr allows customers to price comparison shop, from their mobile phone, for just about anything they want to buy, including CDs, DVDs, books, games, clothing, shoes, electronics, appliances, and more. Simply by sending a text message or email from a phone, users are sent a list of stores where they can get the same product online. Once they've found the best deal, they can order the item directly from their phone or look it up again later from their computer by using Pongr's website.

Project Summary

Using Pongr is simple. Users don't need to sign up for anything and they don't need an account. All it takes is a mobile phone that can send text messages and/or emails.

Pongr's advanced computer vision technology can identify products from a picture of their front cover or their UPC bar code, so all users need to is snap a picture of of the product they want to buy and email or text message it to the system. Pongr immediate responds with a list of stores selling the item, lowest prices first. Users who do choose to register can see their search history on Pongr's website. For users who can't or don't want to send images, the system can search for products based on product name or UPC number.
