JP Morgan ROI Calculator

Background

A new offering by JP Morgan required a large initial investment, but offered excellent return on that investment. To convince potential customers to purchase the service, they developed a comprehensive spreadsheet and presentation to estimate the actual ROI.

The problem was that in order to provide accurate estimates, customer had to provide a lot of detailed information. The spreadsheet would often have to be left behind, emailed around the customer's company, and then emailed back to JP Morgan for them to put together a custom presentation. And, making things more complicated, presentations were often done in rooms with no internet access.

JP Morgan wanted to keep the customizability, convenience, and network independence of the spreadsheet while having better control over access and faster presentation generation.

Project Summary

Because of the limited internet access during presentations, we ended up going with a combination client-server-web application. That way the sales team could make the presentation in a conference room without network access, sync the data when they returned to the JP Morgan office, and then email a link to a website where the customer could update the rest of their data. When all the data was entered the sales team could sync the latest data, customized the final presentation, and present using a local application.
